Read Justin's new paper on apicoplast ubiquitin

A plastid specific ubiquitin is essential to protein import into the Toxoplasma apicoplast. Justin hunted for this protein for quite some time and we are happy to see his terrific paper out in MBio today. This protein has diverged considerably from the highly conserved cytoplasmic ubiquitin -- remarkably though when engineered in just the right way ubiquitin can still do the job.
